According to officials, 25-year-old Charles Lambert and an unidentified passenger were in a Toyota Tacoma pickup going southbound on Hulen. Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Whenever I see single-vehicle wrecks, I always think back to the many situations I’ve seen where the crash happens, and the driver simply couldn’t avoid it. Tire blowouts, road hazards, missing signage or lighting, mechanical defects, medical conditions—there are many things besides just speeding or texting and driving that can cause this kind of crash. Unfortunately, people are more likely to jump to conclusions and blame drivers without knowing all of the facts—even authorities. That’s why I can’t help but wonder if authorities here were able to put aside that bias and make sure they let the evidence speak for itself.
