Investigators said that 26-year-old Celeste Ramsey and four others were in a Ford going southbound on the loop. 40-year-old David Jackson and one other were in a Jeep, also going southbound. From the northbound lanes, it appears a Dodge Charger went across the center turn lane, into southbound lanes, and it crashed into the Ford and the Jeep.

Right now, additional details are unconfirmed, including whether alcohol or drugs are the suspected intoxicant here. Believe it or not, that can make a world of difference. This is due to alcohol providers potentially being responsible if they contribute to an accident. If they unlawfully over-serve someone who is obviously intoxicated, they can potentially face criminal investigations, fines, suspended licenses, and liability for the resulting injuries.

Unfortunately, authorities sometimes are too quick to move on once someone is facing charges. They have other priorities they want to move on to, so having a drunk driver in their crosshairs means negligent alcohol providers often slip through the cracks. That is, they slip through the cracks unless the victims and families utilize avenues independent of the authorities to see the establishments held accountable. So while it’s not clear what all led up to this crash, it’s crucial to consider there could be a lot more to this story.
