Warren County, NJ — March 10, 2024, Carmen Berretta was killed following a truck accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. along Interstate Highway 78.
According to authorities, 64-year-old Carmen Berretta was traveling in an eastbound Chevy SUV and was stopped in the left shoulder of the interstate for unknown reasons.
Officials indicate that, for reasons that remain unclear, the SUV was struck by an eastbound Freightliner as the SUV was re-entering traffic on the interstate. The collision caused the SUV to veer right where it also collided with a guardrail.
Berretta incurred reportedly critical injuries as a result of the accident. She was flown to an area hospital in order to receive immediate treatment. However, she was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries; she was declared deceased at approximately 10:00 p.m. that same day.
