Dallas County, TX — July 22, 2024, Carissa Shilling was injured following a car accident at approximately 6:00 a.m. along Collins Road.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Carissa Shilling was traveling in a northbound Honda Civic on Collins Road at the U.S. Highway 80 westbound service road intersection when the accident took place.
The intersection is reportedly controlled by a traffic signal. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Nissan Rogue on the service road entered the intersection at an apparently unsafe time, failing to heed the red light indicated by the traffic signal. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the left side of the Nissan and the front-end of the Honda.
Shilling suffered serious injuries due to the wreck, according to reports; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. One person from the Nissan sustained reportedly minor injuries, as well. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
