McCulloch County, TX — December 24, 2023, one person was injured in a car accident at approximately 4:30 in the morning along U.S. Highway 190.
According to reports, a 59-year-old man was traveling in a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on U.S. 90 in the vicinity east of the C.R. 424 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials report that, for unconfirmed reasons, the pickup truck was traveling at speeds allegedly too high for the wet road conditions. The pickup reportedly veered right off of the roadway and into a ditch before driving over a culvert. It then went into a skid and turned about 180 degrees. The then east facing vehicle reversed until its left side collided with an embankment. The truck next allegedly drove across both lanes of traffic and onto the shoulder on the south side of the roadway, after which it purportedly continued east for about 400 feet before coming to a stop in the shoulder.
The 59-year-old reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. No additional details are currently available. The investigation is ongoing.
