Corpus Christi, TX — March 15, 2024, four people were injured in a car accident sometime before 2:20 a.m. along South Alameda Street.

According to authorities, an SUV was traveling west on South Alameda Street in the vicinity of the Greenway Drive intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the SUV may have been speeding leading up to the accident. It reportedly rear-ended a passenger vehicle which was also westbound on Alameda. The collision reportedly caused the cars to veer off of the roadway where a fire hydrant and three parked and unoccupied vehicles were also struck.

The two drivers of the vehicles apparently incurred injuries of unknown severity. Two passengers sustained suspected minor injuries, as well. All four victims were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
