Marion County, FL — November 28, 2023, over a dozen were injured following a bus versus ambulance accident at around 9:00 a.m. on SW 90th Street.
Details from the Florida Highway Patrol say that the crash happened at the intersection of Southwest 90th Street and Southwest 80th Avenue.

It appears that there was a Marion County Fire ambulance had its lights and sirens on crossing the intersection on the way to an emergency. As it crossed, authorities allege that both a Dodge Ram and a shuttle bus from Bridge to Hope Community Education Center failed to yield to the emergency vehicle. This resulted in the three vehicles colliding.
Twelve people from the bus and two people the ambulance were transported from the scene with unspecified injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Anyone with a license learned to yield to emergency vehicles, so the fact police allege someone responsible for transporting special needs passengers failed to yield is pretty serious, if true. However, I don’t recall the last time I saw a crash where someone failed to yield to an emergency vehicle and more than one vehicle was accused of doing so. One driver happens relatively often, but it makes me wonder if there was an extenuating circumstance that led to multiple drivers somehow crashing with the same ambulance. Is there more to this story?
