While details here are scarce, any crash involving a commercial vehicle is bound to involve unique challenges, regardless of what caused the accident. Investigators need to be able to look beyond obvious or common factors, like vehicle speeds and cell phone usage.
What were road conditions like? Did a vehicle experience mechanical issues? Were there representatives at the scene from the commercial vehicle owner speaking with police? Did the commercial vehicle have cameras that could show what led to the crash?
Sometimes, authorities are thorough enough to touch on all of these factors. Other times, their investigations are hasty, and detalis slip through the cracks. It’s important for victims and families to be confident in the answers they’re getting, and authorities alone aren’t always up to that task.
