Fort Bend County, TX — January 28, 2024, Brandon Alexander Gonzalez was killed and three others were injured after a car accident at 3:00 a.m. on Bissonnet Street.
According to officials, the crash happened in the area of the Bissonnet Street and Boulder Springs Drive intersection.
Investigators said that 23-year-old Brandon Alexander Gonzalez and three others were in a Toyota Tundra going westbound along Bissonnet. For reasons unclear right now, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. There, it began to swerve, veering left toward the median where it crashed into a tree.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
My concern when reading about single-vehicle wrecks like this is whether or not authorities gave them the attention they deserve. It would shock people to see how many calls our firm gets because people affected by crashes similar to this one felt authorities overlooked something or got the facts wrong. Why does that happen, though?
Generally speaking, a proper accident reconstruction has to consider some incredibly complex possible factors. Mechanical defects, road hazards, lack of signage or lighting, bars illegally over-serving drivers, faulty tires or brakes—these all may not be as common as things like speeding or distracted driving, but they do happen. Confirming them or ruling them out, then, usually means having state-of-the-art tools and extensive training.
Unfortunately, authorities tend to see single-vehicle wrecks as a low priority. As a result, officers may not have the tools or time to consider those more complex factors, leading some investigators to erroneously blame drivers who may not have been able to avoid a crash. I certainly can’t say if that’s what happened here, but there isn’t enough information publicly available right now to definitively rule out all possibilities.
