Arlington, TX — June 19, 2025, one person was killed and one was injured following a shooting at apartments off Nandina Drive around 1:00 p.m.
According to preliminary statements from police officials, the apartments are located off the corner of the Arbrook Boulevard and Vela Drive intersection.
Exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this time. Authorities say they were called to the complex following a shooting. Reports say responders found one person unresponsive. That person was taken to a hospital where their injuries ultimately proved fatal. Another person was found with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
Right now, no charges have been announced. The incident is still under investigation.

In public places like an apartment complex, concern about a shooting rightfully extends beyond the incident itself and to the greater questions of how safe other residents are. That’s why investigations should be broad enough to include whether these incidents happen a lot on this property and if any steps can be taken to improve security. Hopefully steps are already being taken to look into these possibilities.
