Accident Report
Otis, MA — March 5, 2026, Antonio Marcucci was killed in a truck accident at about 9:10 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Main Road/State Road 8.
Authorities said two semi-trucks, one northbound and one southbound, collided after one lost control and ended up in the wrong lane. The trucks were lodged in a snowbank when police arrived on the scene.
The driver of the northbound truck, 32-year-old Connecticut resident Antonio Marcucci, died after being transported to a Springfield hospital, according to authorities.
The driver of the other truck was not seriously injured, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Berkshire County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports do not indicate which vehicle ended up in the wrong lane, so determining that must be one of investigators’ first priorities. The same for figuring out why the truck “lost control,” which in my experience is often slang for first responders don’t know what happened.
Investigators will have data from both trucks, physical evidence from the scene and potentially dashcam footage to sort out the sequence of events leading to the crash. That should yield much-needed answers for the victim’s family.
