Selma, TX — May 10, 2023, Anjelika Machtchikova was injured, and Moris Dimyan was killed by an alleged drunk driver around 9:52 p.m. on Lookout Road in Selma.
Authorities report the victims were westbound on Retama Pkwy. in a Toyota Rav4 when their vehicle was struck by a northbound Toyota Tundra at the intersection with Lookout Road. The Tundra reportedly disregarded a red light and struck the driver-side door of the Rav4.
Officials say both Ms. Machtchikova and Mr. Dimyan suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. However, Moris Dimyan’s injuries ultimately proved to be fatal.
The driver of the Tundra had reportedly been drinking at Beer Goggles Pub in Live Oak, TX before the wreck and was over the legal limit. Police recommended charging him with driving while intoxicated, intoxication manslaughter, and intoxication assault.
