Hill County, TX — July 29, 2024, Andrew Mendoza and two others were injured following a motorcycle accident at around 2:45 a.m. along F.M. 933.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of F.M. 933 and County Road 2124, southeast of Whitney.

Investigators said in preliminary statements that 37-year-old Andrew Mendoza was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going northbound on F.M. 933. Mendoza reportedly stopped for unclear reasons, following which another motorcycle crashed into the back of Mendoza’s motorcycle. As a result, both Mendoza and the other motorcyclist, as well as a passenger on the second bike, were seriously injured.

While exact details are not confirmed right now, authorities mentioned alcohol as a potential factor in the accident. I can’t say if that’s true or not, but it can make situations like this rather complex. As straight-forward as folks may think that would make things, if someone was illegally over-served by an alcohol provider, those alcohol providers could ultimately be responsible for an accident resulting from that intoxication. Frankly, that isn’t something authorities often look into on their own, as they tend to put all of the focus on the drivers involved in an accident. But if there’s an opportunity to get people the help they need, that, too, warrants attention. Are authorities looking into that, or are they letting something important slip through the cracks?
