University Park, TX — November 22, 2024, Ana Gonzalez Perez was killed in a car accident at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Preston Road.
Ana Gonzalez Perez was injured in a five-vehicle collision that authorities said was caused by a driver running a red light at the intersection in University Park.
A Chevrolet Silverado sped through a red light while going east on Lovers and collided with Ana Gonzalez Perez’s vehicle, which was headed north on Preston, according to authorities.
Police said the initial collision resulted in a chain reaction that involved multiple other vehicles.
Ana Gonzalez Perez died at the scene, according to authorities. A child who was in her car was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
University Park Police arrested the Silverado driver. He reportedly is facing criminal charges for causing a collision resulting in injury or death, authorities said.
