Usually when authorities have a suspect’s vehicle, it’s just a matter of time before they apprehend that person. Maybe they’ve already done so and just have yet to make any public statements. Regardless, once that person has been found, it’s important that investigations into the accident itself continue. Holding someone responsible for leaving an accident scene is important. However, there’s often something that led them to flee in the first place. Were they driving drunk? Do they have warrants? Continuing the investigations can often show that definitely one way or the other.
