Houston, TX — July 2, 2023, Aminah Gardner was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident early Sunday along the Katy Freeway.
Investigators said that the incident took place at around 2:35 a.m. along I-10 in the area of Fry Road.
Details suggest that 57-year-old Aminah Gardner had been driving for Uber and Lyft and had recently dropped off a passenger. Some time later, Gardner’s vehicle got a flat tire. Gardner was reportedly pulled over along the side of Katy Freeway changing the tire when a vehicle struck her. That vehicle then left the scene.
As a result of the collision, Gardner sustained fatal injuries. Police describe the runaway vehicle as a white vehicle that left behind a side mirror. Further information is unavailable, and authorities continue to search for the suspect driver. Authorities encourage members of the public to come forward if they have information which can help identify the driver responsible for Aminah Gardner’s death.
