Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
The cause of the crash is not clear at this time, but authorities say the motorcycle “veered” left of center. I would caution against anyone just assuming that means the motorcyclist did something wrong. That’s possible, of course, but a lot of factors can lead to someone losing control of their vehicle. Tire failure, road hazards, medical conditions, alcohol, mechanical issues, etc. Folks tend to forget about these possibilities, and it doesn’t help authorities haven’t suggested any possible factors contributing to this crash. I can only hope they’ve been more thorough in answering the questions the victims’ loved ones no doubt have. I’d hate to think they’re getting as little information as the public is getting.
