Arlington, TX — December 1, 2023, five people were injured following an alleged drunk driver accident before 11:00 p.m. along West Pioneer Parkway.
Authorities said that the crash took place at the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and Matlock Road. According to current information, Adela Aguallo, another woman, and three minors were in a Chevy Tahoe that was stopped on eastbound Pioneer for a red light. While there, it appears a Chevy Colorado crashed into the back of the Tahoe.
As a result of the collision, a 7-year-old girl in the Tahoe had incapacitating injuries. The other two minors and the driver of the Tahoe had non-incapacitating injuries while Aguallo had no confirmed injuried. The driver of the Colorado also reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries.

Authorities allege that the Colorado driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. What they haven’t said whether or not they’re looking further into what all led to the crash. As an example of why that matters, I handled a personal injury case not long ago involving a drunk driver and a bar that both contributed to a young kid suffering serious injuries.
In that scenario, a man went to a happy hour after work with some colleagues, and he proceeded to get incredibly intoxicated. The bar actually illegally over-served the man while he was obviously intoxicated, and it was surprising he even stumbled out the door without falling over, let alone all the way to his car. He then drove drunk, ended up going into oncoming traffic, and hit a family’s car head-on.
As we were handling the personal injury case against the bar, the servers involved in the accident also opened themselves up to criminal charges for over-serving the driver in the first place. Even if there hadn’t been a crash, the evidence was clear that the establishment broke the law and could be held accountable.
Unfortunately, I see way too many situations where I end up looking into a negligent bar or some other establishment after a drunk driving crash and authorities are no where to be seen. There are times when departments prioritize these possibilities more, so they’re able to actually dedicate the time and resources needed to handle those investigations. Right now, it’s unclear if the authorities handling this situation have gone beyond solely investigating the drunk driver’s actions. Hopefully they have done so behind the scenes to ensure there are appropriate consequences for all of this chaos.
