Santa Rosa County, FL — September 29, 2024, One person is dead following an 18-wheeler accident that happened around 11:50 A.M. on Interstate 10.
An investigation is underway into a fatal accident 18-wheeler accident that occurred just before noon on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County, about 7 miles from the Highway 87 exit. According to reports, a 65-year-old Texas man was behind the wheel of his 18-wheeler tanker, when for unknown reasons it left the roadway and struck the tree line.
The impact then caused the truck to roll on its side before becoming enflamed, and when first responders arrived on the scene they found the Texas man with no signs of life and declared him deceased. Investigators reportedly have stated that they believe the driver was trapped inside the vehicle after crashing.
At this time no other details, including the identity of the driver have been released, however this remains an ongoing investigation.
