One person is dead following a fatal accident that occurred around 11:02 A.M. on Friday morning, on highway 25 outside the town of Rupert. According to official reports, the 18-wheeler was heading in the westbound direction of highway 25 when they encountered a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was reportedly walking along the roadway when the truck driver attempted to swerve out of the way, which resulted in the trailer striking the pedestrian. The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to the pedestrian who was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased has not been released yet by the Idaho State Police which is in charge of the investigation. At this time there have reportedly been no charges or citations issued.
