Parker County, TX — December 30, 2025, one person was killed as the result of a cattle feed trough accident at around 5:06 p.m. off Old Tin Top Road.
Investigators said that the incident took place along Old Tin Top Road and involved a concrete cattle feed trough and an 18-wheeler with a flatbed trailer.
Initial statements say that the feed trough was being unloaded from the flatbed trailer at the time. In a series of events not clear right now, the trough fell on a person. That person died as a result.
Authorities did not report any other injuries. Additional details about the accident are unavailable.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There are all kinds of factors that can go into an accident like this. Was this a delivery, or private individuals who moved the trough on their own? Was the victim on the job at the time? How was the trough being unloaded? Was equipment being used properly? Did a defect cause equipment to fail? Was this just some one-in-a-million occurrence that couldn’t have been avoided?
Simply put, this is far from something ordinary, like a car crash. Accidents like this generally require careful inspections of equipment and investigations into the people involved, which authorities may not be used to handling on their own. So, either authorities here are better-equipped than most departments to handle the unique circumstances, they’re bringing in outside help, or there will need to be independent investigators stepping in to make sure the victim’s loved ones get the answers they deserve.
