Accident Report
Mount Pleasant, TX — August 21, 2026, Tamara Boles was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 8:30 p.m. on F.M. 1402.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2019 Ford F-250 allegedly ran a stop sign on the ramp from Interstate 30 and collided with a southbound 2025 Toyota Camry.
Toyota driver Tamara Boles, 65, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
The Ford driver, a 24-year-old man who suffered minor injuries, was charged with intoxication assault and failure to yield after the crash, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Titus County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Police likely will investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but I hope investigators look beyond the scene of the crash if a blood test confirms the Ford driver was intoxicated. They should try to figure out where he had been drinking before the crash.
That matters because alcohol providers can share responsibility for accidents like this under Texas law if they served the driver while he was obviously intoxicated before he got behind the wheel.
I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but the Toyota driver and her family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
