Accident Report

Austin, TX — August 16, 2026, Farzad Hakimi and two other people were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 5:15 a.m. on West Parmer Lane/F.M. 734.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2018 Ford F-150 was heading north on Adelphi Lane when it collided with a westbound 2009 Acura TL.

Acura driver Farzad Hakimi, 23 and two passengers in the Ford were seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.

The Ford driver, a 20-year-old man, was charged with driving while intoxicated after the crash, the report states. He and another passenger suffered minor injuries.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Travis County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Police likely will investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but a deeper look is warranted if a blood test confirms the Ford driver was intoxicated. Then authorities should try to figure out where he was drinking before this accident.

It’s one thing if he had been drinking at home, but if he had been drinking at a bar or restaurant that alcohol provider could share responsibility for the injuries caused in this crash if the driver was served while obviously intoxicated.

I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but the families affected by this crash deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in it.
