Accident Report
Austin, TX — August 15, 2026, Charles Robertson and Emily Robertson were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 9:40 p.m. on the U.S. Highway 183 access road.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2003 Chevrolet pickup was heading south when it crashed into a 2022 Hyundai Elantra that was heading west on Lakeline Mall Drive
The two people in the Hyundai — Charles Robertson, 43, and Emily Robertson, 42 — suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to the report.
The pickup driver, who suffered minor injuries, was charged with two counts of intoxication assault after the crash, according to the report. The two teens riding with him were listed as possibly injured.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Williamson County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If blood tests confirm the Chevrolet driver was intoxicated, authorities should dig deeper into this crash than a normal injury accident. They should try to figure out where he had been drinking before the crash.
That matters because under Texas law alcohol providers can be held accountable for injuries caused in accidents like this if the driver was served while obviously intoxicated.
I don’t have any way of knowing if that is what happened here, but the people in the Hyundai and their family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
