How Did This Accident Occur?
If allegations here are true, then it may seem like everything is pretty open-and-shut. After all, authorities have someone to blame for the crash, right? Well, the alleged intoxicated driver might not be the only person responsible here. Depending on events leading up to the crash, there may also be a complicit alcohol provider. Let me explain.
A lot of drunk driving wrecks involve people who were unlawfully over-served by a local alcohol provider. In Texas, bars, restaurants, clubs, and other establishments can face consequences for that. This can include fines, suspended licenses, responsibility for resulting accidents, and even criminal investigations. But if authorities just put all of their focus on the drunk driver, those negligent alcohol providers may slip through the cracks.
So, hopefully this crash is getting the attention it deserves. No doubt the victims and families involved would want to know if there was accomplice whose actions contributed to their hardships.
