Accident Report

August 6, 2026, Johan Peters was killed and three others were hurt in a car accident which happened around 6:30 p.m. along Highway 214.

Preliminary information about the accident says that it took place in the area of the Highway 214 and County Road 205 intersection, northwest of Seminole.

It appears that 50-year-old Johan Peters was in a Chevy Spark going southeast along the highway. A Lexus was going the same direction when it reportedly failed to control speed. As a result, it crashed with the Chevy and a Ford F-150 going northwest.

Due to the crash, Johan Peters sustained fatal injuries. The Lexus driver, the Ford driver, and a passenger from the Ford had possible minor injuries. Authorities say they recommended citing the Lexus driver for failure to control speed.

Given the directions of the vehicles, I often see this sort of situation play out when one person slows down to make a turn and waits for an oncoming vehicle to pass only for someone behind them to not slow down.
