July 3, 2026, one person was injured due to a motor vehicle versus train accident shortly after 12:45 a.m. along Farm to Market 149.

According to authorities, a 24-year-old man was traveling in a southeast bound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on F.M. 149 at the railroad crossing just north of the F.M. 1774 intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Dodge failed to stop for a train at the crossing. Research shows that there is a flashing light and guard arm system at that location.
