How Did This Accident Occur?
When vehicles traveling the same direction collide, it’s often due to things like distracted driving, unsafe speeds, or fatigue. Maybe that’s what happened here, as well. However, it’s important for investigations to be able to rule out even unlikely possible factors. Even something like brake failure due to a vehicle defect, for example, is worth investigating.
Ultimately, it’s the evidence that says what led to the crash. So instead of solely focusing on the most likely explanations, a proper accident reconstruction should be able to tell the full story, one way or another. If authorities here have taken those steps, that would be good to hear. It’s just not the sort of thing I’d ever encourage someone to take for granted without following up with authorities and making sure.
