Accident Report

Pottawatomie County, IA — July 29, 2026, Charles Grandpre and Angela Blackwood were killed in a truck accident at about 6 a.m. on Interstate 29 near Ascot.

Authorities said a northbound semi-truck drove through the median barrier and crashed into a column supporting the Rosewood Road bridge, tearing the semi in half.

Driver Charles Grandpre, 64, of Salina, KS, and his passenger, 49-year-old Angela Blackwood of Broken Arrow, OK, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Pottawatomie County crash at this time.
