Accident Report
June 16, 2026, Tiesha Robertson was injured following a car accident which took place around 1:27 a.m. along Bagby Street.
Preliminary information about the crash says that it happened at the intersection of Bagby Street and Gray Street in downtown Houston.
According to officials, 46-year-old Tiesha Robertson and a 37-year-old man were in a Dodge Charger going southbound through the intersection. Police say that a Mercedes-Benz going westbound ran the light, and it crashed with the Dodge.
Due to the accident, Tiesha Robertson was reportedly seriously injured. No other injuries were confirmed. Authorities say they recommended charging the Mercedes-Benz for running the light.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If the allegations here are true, then things may seem pretty open-and-shut with authorities recommending a charge for a driver running the light. However, it’s important to know why that driver ran the light.
For example, was alcohol a factor here? This happened during a common hour for drunk driving. And while that may seem like something authorities would draw attention to, preliminary reports rarely tell the whole story. This can especially be true with more complex investigations, and I’ve handled hundreds of drunk driving accident investigations that extended far beyond the crash scene and to a local bar or restaurant who also was responsible for contributing to the crash.
If authorities got caught up in something like that, they may not update their statements right away until they’re sure they have all the evidence they need. That said, this could just as easily be the result of distracted driving or just plain recklessness. My point is that it’s important to have the full story before drawing conclusions, and signs tell me that there’s probably more to this story than the preliminary reports suggest.
