Accident Report
Rockwall, TX — July 10, 2026, a pedestrian was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 11:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Yvonne Drive.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2008 Jeep Wrangler hit a pedestrian while leaving a private driveway.
The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. Her name has not been made public yet.
The Jeep driver was charged with intoxication assault after the crash, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Rockwall County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities likely will investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but they should look beyond the scene of the crash if blood tests confirm the Jeep driver was intoxicated. They should try to figure out where he was drinking before he got behind the wheel.
It’s one think if he had been drinking at home, but if he had been at a bar or restaurant that alcohol provider could share responsibility for the injuries caused in this crash if he was served while he was obviously intoxicated.
I don’t know if that applies in this instance, but the pedestrian and her family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
