How Did This Accident Occur?

I can’t say I have any more information about this than what’s already in the news. When I look at images of this area, though, some things stand out. This appears to be a pretty narrow roadway lined with houses. Generally speaking, a responsible commercial truck driver would no doubt be at their most attentive in an area like this. People could come out from behind cars or try to cross the street at a moment’s notice. There could always be a situation where a truck driver has no way of reasonably avoiding a pedestrian in their vicinity, but I just have to wonder if this particular truck driver had any chance of avoiding the deadly collision. If so, what was it that prevented them from doing so? That’s something investigators will have to dig into as investigations continue.

Did anyone see the accident or hear something from people in the area? Let me know in the comments if there’s any important context the news left out.
