Accident Report
Houston, TX — March 28, 2026, two people were injured in a wrong-way car accident at about 10:15 p.m. on State Highway 6.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2011 Infiniti G25 was heading south in the northbound lanes when it collided with a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek near Westheimer Road.
The Subaru driver, a 46-year-old Richmond man, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.
The Infiniti driver, who also suffered serious injuries, was intoxicated at the time of the crash, the report states, but she is not facing any charges at this point.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harris County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
It is unusual for police to indicate that a driver was intoxicated without filing charges, but maybe that hasn’t happened in this case since the Infiniti driver was injured in the crash as well. Investigators may be waiting for her to recover before presenting possible charges to prosecutors. They also should look into where she had been drinking before this crash.
That matters, because under Texas law alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused by a patron who was served while obviously intoxicated. I don’t know if that applies in this instance, but it is worth investigating so the Subaru driver and his family will know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
