Accident Report

April 23, 2026, Jeremy McComas was injured due to a car accident just after 3:45 p.m. along Olympus Boulevard.

According to authorities, 54-year-old Jeremy McComas was traveling in a northbound Kia Sorento on Olympus Boulevard at the Ranch Trail intersection when the accident took place. For as yet unknown reasons, a southbound Chevrolet Equinox occupied by a 39-year-old woman failed to yield the right-of-way as it attempted a left turn. A collision consequently occurred between the front-end of the Chevrolet and the front-left of the Kia.

McComas reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. The woman from the Chevrolet may have been injured, as well, according to reports. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

When it comes to accidents where one vehicle allegedly fails to yield during a left turn, most people are content to write it off as caused by driver error. After being in this line of work for over three decades, though, I’m not so quick to jump to conclusions. A simple search on Google Maps will show you that the intersection is controlled by a traffic signal. Let me just suggest a hypothetical. Traffic lights, while excellent tools, are not infallible. What if the light gave contradicting signals to the two vehicles, and that was actually the reason for the collision?

I realize that this is not super likely, but neither is it outside of the realm of possibilities. Hopefully investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—are thorough and openminded enough to look into it. After all, surface-level investigation will not provide the kind of clarity that the people affected by this accident deserve.
