Due to the collision, the man and the woman from the motorcycle were seriously injured. At this time, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Two vehicles going the same direction and colliding is often the result of something like unsafe speeds or distracted driving. Of course, it’s important to consider other possibilities, likely or not. Did a vehicle’s brakes fail? Was someone’s brake lights out? Was there some kind of unavoidable emergency? This all needs a thorough investigation.
My concern, though, is if investigations into this accident have been fair. I see far too many motorcycle wrecks where investigators put all of their focus on the motorcyclist, just assuming they did something wrong. Obviously, riders make mistakes. But so do other drivers. It’s unfair to let bias steer investigations when they should be following the evidence first and foremost. If that’s happening here, that’s good. If not, though, that’s sometimes a sign the crash needs a second set of eyes doing their own investigation.
Did anyone see this crash or pass by the scene afterward? Let me know in the comments if there’s more to the story I should know.
