Bastrop County, TX — December 12, 2025, Luis Ochoa Santiago was injured following a car accident around 4:37 a.m. along Old McDade Road.
Authorities said that the crash took place east of Elgin near Ewing Avenue.
Investigators said that 24-year-old Luis Ochoa Santiago was in a Chevy Silverado going northwest along the roadway. Somehow a collision occurred between the Silverado and an oncoming pickup. Due to the crash, Luis Ochoa Santiago had serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

One of the challenges with accidents where one person is seriously injured and others aren’t is that person may not have had their chance to give their side of the story. I get calls from people all the time worried because they were taken to a hospital, and authorities never followed up with them to get a statement. That’s why it can be important to simply ask police what they’ve looked into. If it seems they’ve considered all possible extenuating circumstances and let the evidence speak for itself, that’s generally a sign they did good investigations. But if their efforts were little more than a cursory glance at the scene and statements from the drivers who were still there to give their statement, it’s possible independent investigators could find important details authorities overlooked.
