Leon County, TX — January 10, 2026, Rogelio Ruiz was injured as the result of a car accident at around 2:13 a.m. along Sand Bank Road.
Initial details about the accident say that the crash took place east of Jewett along County Road 317/Sand Bank Road.
Investigators said that 41-year-old Rogelio Ruiz was in a Dodge Ram going westbound along the roadway. That vehicle somehow left its lane, and it crashed off-road. Due to the accident, Rogelio Ruiz was seriously injured.

When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, people generally want to be sure that their side of the story is being told fairly. Sometimes, authorities are careful and thorough enough in their investigations that they do this. Too often, though, investigations begin and end at the crash scene. This is when people will usually seek out independent professionals who can help clear up the facts. At the end of the day, the evidence should have the final say, and that means taking prompt steps to gather and preserve that evidence. Maybe authorities died that here, but it’s not the sort of thing I’d ever take for granted.
