Fort Worth, TX — January 3, 2026, one person was killed and another was injured due to a single-vehicle car accident at 3:00 a.m. on East 4th Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened off the corner of the East 4th Street and I-35W intersection.
Investigators said that two people were in a vehicle going along the roadway when the vehicle lost control. It ended up crashing into a utility pole off-road. The crash led to the passenger in the vehicle suffering fatal injuries. The driver was critically injured.

Early on after a crash, it’s important to take initial reports with a few grains of salt. It takes careful, thorough investigations to get the full story, and it can surprise people when authorities either jump to conclusions or move on before they’ve looked at all the facts. The fact of the matter is they have their own priorities, and that can limit the scope of their investigations.
That’s why a lot of families who want to be sure they’re getting the whole story bring in independent investigators. They put the evidence first, so that way no kind of bias or lack of time or equipment will get in the way of the facts. It’s possible those efforts here would ultimately reaffirm what authorities are already looking into. In my experience, though, families tend to fare better confirming police investigations than simply taking those investigations at face value without any sort of second look.
