El Paso, TX — November 17, 2025, a man sustained injuries due to a hit-and-run car accident around 6:03 p.m. on Gene Torres Drive.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the incident happened just off the corner of the Gene Torres Drive and Vista Del Sol Drive intersection, between George Dieter Drive and Zaragoza Road.

According to officials, a 70-year-old man was on foot at the time and attempting to cross Gene Torres. While doing so, police say that a car turned onto Gene Torres, then struck the man. That vehicle then left the scene. The pedestrian was seriously injured.

Authorities recently published video of the incident showing the car. It’s described as a gray or silver sedan. Investigations are ongoing.

It’s very encouraging authorities thought to look for a nearby camera, something I too often see go overlooked. With these new details in the public eye, hopefully someone can connect the dots and come forward with information that leads to an arrest. Not only should there be consequences for the driver leaving the scene, but it’s possible there will need to be other consequences for whatever led the driver to flee in the first place.
