Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Following a serious car accident, it’s important to know if authorities are just focused on moving on or if they’re actually prioritizing the accident reconstructions. It would surprise people how often I’ve had a crash come across my desk where authorities basically just cleared the scene, did a quick look at the surface-level details, and considered the matter closed.

A proper accident reconstruction should address road conditions, possible vehicle defects, cellphone records, camera footage (from the vehicles or nearby businesses or residences), drugs and alcohol, lighting and signage, etc. Likely or not, the evidence needs to speak for itself so those affected by the crash can be sure they’re getting the whole story. Did that ever happen here?
