It appears OSHA is investigating the incident, but work accidents in Texas are rarely as simple as people may think. As a matter of fact, Texas work fatality law is more complex than any other state’s laws. This is due to the fact employers are not required to subscribe to workers’ comp. Generally speaking, that means a worker’s loved ones aren’t guaranteed to get the benefits they deserve after an accident. Forging that path forward usually takes significant preparation that I’ve never seen OSHA alone provide.
