Trinity County, TX — January 14, 2024, Cortney Harrison was injured following a car accident at around 1:25 a.m. along Farm-to-Market 356.
According to initial details released by authorities, the accident happened near the intersection of F.M. 356 and Acorn Lane, just east of Liberty.
Investigators said that 24-year-old Cortney Harrison was the driver of a Ford Flex reportedly going northbound along F.M. 356. While rounding a curve, the vehicle somehow went to the right off-road where it struck the side of a culvert. This launched the vehicle over a driveway, and it overturned.
Due to the crash, Harrison reportedly sustained serious injuries. Authorities have not confirmed a cause for the accident, and they mentioned being unable to speak with Harrison following the crash. Other details are unavailable right now.

I certainly don’t know anything about this specific accident beyond what’s been stated publicly. But authorities saying they’ve been unable to follow up with the victim after the crash is concerning. Is that still true? Generally speaking, I’ve only ever seen authorities either fail to update their public statements after following up, or they just never bother following up at all and move on to other investigations. I know from speaking to plenty of victims and families after single-vehicle wrecks that it can be frustrating when someone isn’t able to tell their side of the story. That’s why my hope here is the investigators in charge have been more thorough behind the scenes than what the details I’m seeing here suggest.
