Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

My hope is that authorities are being thorough here rather than letting any sort of bias color their investigations. The reason I say this is because there are two kinds of accidents I get calls about which are far too often mishandled due to unfair preconceptions: single vehicle wrecks and wrecks involving young drivers.

In both situations, there are countless possible factors that could cause the vehicle to crash, including many which a driver has no control over. However, the fact both kinds of wrecks more commonly involve things like distracted driving or speeding, for example, sometimes leads authorities to just blame the driver and move on without considering other possibilities. It can leave families in the unfortunate position of wanting to trust authorities while also feeling that investigators aren’t gathering the evidence necessary to tell the whole story of what caused the crash.
