San Antonio, TX — January 10, 2024, Priscilla Patlan was injured following a car accident at around 12:30 a.m. along Highway 151.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash took place in the area of Ingram Road.
Investigators said that 39-year-old Priscilla Patlan was in a Cadillac which was going southbound along the highway. A witness apparently saw the Cadillac veer to the left into a guardrail. It then bounced back to the right where it crashed into the opposite guardrail before eventually coming to a stop.
Due to the crash, Patlan apparently had serious injuries. Authorities said Patlan was disoriented, and they could not confirm a cause for the crash.

The fact the victim here was apparently disoriented when police responded to the scene is a crucial factor. Why is that? Unfortunately, I frequently see incidents where authorities do all of their work at the crash scene, and anything beyond that falls by the wayside. That means if the victim is taken to the hospital without being able to give a statement to the authorities, they may never get their opportunity to speak on their own behalf.
That’s why I so often caution folks that the details we in the public get to see are rarely telling the whole story. Perhaps authorities here were able to follow up behind the scenes and confirm what all led to this crash. If they didn’t, though, are other steps being taken to ensure the victim can tell their side of the story?
