McLennan County, TX — December 29, 2023, a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run car accident at approximately 7:00 p.m. along Lincoln City Rd.
According to reports, a 40-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Dodge Dakota on Mesquite Tree Road approaching the Lincoln City Road intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Dodge made a left turn from southbound Mesquite Tree onto eastbound Lincoln City where it allegedly collided with a 34-year-old woman who had been on foot. The pedestrian reportedly came to rest in the ditch on the south side of Lincoln City Road. The Dodge purportedly fled the scene; however, they were later found. Authorities have recommended a charge of failure to stop and render aid in a collision involving injury.
The woman who was struck sustained suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; she was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment.
