Accident Report

September 18, 2026, one person was killed and five were injured after a van accident at around 3:17 p.m. along Route 30.

Preliminary information about the crash is scarce. It reportedly happened near the US Route 30 and Lincoln Highway split east of Lancaster.

According to officials, a private school van and a red passenger vehicle crashed. The van ended up on its side after the crash. Due to the collision, it appears one person was killed. Five others reportedly had injuries.

At this time, the cause of the accident remains unconfirmed.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Right now, I’m only seeing the same stuff in the news everyone else is. I’m certainly not going to jump to conclusions. One thing I wonder, though, is if there is any video footage of the crash. Did the van have a camera onboard, as many transit vehicles (both public and private) do these days? Did a nearby business have a camera with a view of the road? Are there traffic cameras at this intersection? Video tends to be time-sensitive, as its often routinely deleted. The sooner investigators secure it, the more information they can get about what happened here.
