Accident Report

Marshall, TX — September 5, 2026, Ziporrah Mack and three other people were injured in a suspected drunk driver accident at about 5:40 p.m. on West Grand Avenue/U.S. Highway 80.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a westbound 2006 Cadillac DTS allegedly was speeding when it collided with a 2013 Honda CR-V that was turning out of a private driveway.

Honda driver Zipporah Mack, 38, and two children riding with her were seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.

A 23-year-old man riding in the Cadillac suffered serious injuries as well, the report states.

The Cadillac driver, 29, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs, according to the report, but he is not facing any charges at this time.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harrison County crash.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities probably will investigate this like any other injury accident, but they should look beyond the scene of this collision if blood tests confirm the Cadillac driver was intoxicated. They should try to figure out where he had been drinking.

That matters because under Texas law alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused in alcohol-related accidents if the driver was served while obviously intoxicated before the crash.

I don’t know if that applies in this instance, but the Honda driver and her family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this accident.

Do you know anything that could help with this investigation? Let me know in the comments.
