How Did This Accident Occur?
It’s challenging to make a definitive conclusion this soon after a chaotic, multi-vehicle crash like this. In fact, when I see authorities make an early conclusion, it actually makes me suspicious that they may have rushed their investigations. Even when there may be seemingly obvious factors involved in a crash, it takes time, experience, and state-of-the-art tools to rule out other possible contributing factors. That’s why I get a lot of calls from victims and families involved in a serious crash who were disappointed to find out authorities rushed through their investigations and left a bunch of unanswered questions. I’m not saying that happened here, but it’s something to keep an eye on following a car accident. If it ever seems like there’s more to the story than what authorities are saying, it’s entirely reasonable to seek out a second opinion. I’ve had that reaffirmed time and time again throughout my career, but I have no doubt there are readers who can share their own experiences, as well.
