New York, NY — July 23, 2025, three people were injured following a facade wall collapse accident that happened around 5:00 p.m. along Jericho Turnpike.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at 245-13 Jericho Turnpike, just off Braddock Avenue.

Authorities say that people were walking along the sidewalk off Jericho Turnpike when a cinder block facade wall somehow fell off a furniture store at the above address. The wall landed on three people, resulting in injuries. Those victims, including two children, were taken to area hospitals to be checked out.
Details in the news say the store had opened just weeks prior to the accident. The reason for the collapse remains unspecified at this time.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
People might be quick to write this off as just some freak occurrence. However, it’s important to find out not only why this happened but also how it was allowed to get to this point. Short of some sort of extreme weather event, a wall doesn’t just collapse out of nowhere. It’s more likely there were issues that were either known or should have been known about and fixed. With the store reportedly opening so recently, I have to wonder if this was something that slipped under the radar or if there may have been a previous owner who failed to point out known issues to the shop owners. Once all is said and done, experience tells me this will be less like a freak occurrence and more like an avoidable mistake.
