How Did This Accident Occur?

Traffic laws dictate that only one of these vehicles could have had the right of way at the time of this crash. It’s up to police to figure out which one, and why this crash happened.

Maybe one driver was distracted or fatigued. Maybe one vehicle had a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism. Maybe there was an issue with the traffic signals at this intersection.

Investigators will reconstruct this accident by poring over vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage, while cell phone records could show if either driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time.

If authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, a qualified expert should examine the vehicles before they are repaired or scrapped. Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, but the Toyota driver and her family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
